Marine Conservation Happy Hour

May 3, 2018

The MCHH crew of @Craken_MacCraic, @DrScarlettSmash and @SpeakUpForBlue drunkenly discuss whether we are getting through to people about how much plastic pollution we are contributing to the ocean (directly and indirectly). The topic stemmed from an article about a Blue Planet II episode, where Sir David Attenborough spoke about how a pilot whale calf died during the episode and mentioned that the calf may have died due to plastic pollution.

The statement was met with criticism by one person. We discuss whether that message was hurting the message of ocean plastic pollution.

The crew also ponder whether people making assumptions and hear criticisms that question an issue will derail a movement.

Drinks on the table:
@Craken_McCraic - CS (not Cesium wine apparently)
@DrScarlettSmash - Tequila and Orange Soda?
@SpeakUpForBlue - Craft Beer from Waterloo, Ontario called Waterloo Dark and Poly Want a Pilsner
