Imagine walking up to a person who is enjoying herself at the beach in Costa Rica to ask them questions about poop in the water. A little awkward, isn't it? Now imagine asking 4,999 more people. That is the number of times Erin Symonds and her team surveyed people on Costa Rican beaches about water quality at the beach.
The survey was for a larger study that looked at how sewage was treated and how it could reach the water at the beach.
